Caviness Beef Packers has been family owned and operated for “50 Years” and is currently led by 2nd and 3rd generation family members. Since 1962, Caviness has remained one of the most relationship oriented companies in the beef industry. The business has grown from harvesting a handful of cattle, in the early days, to 1600 head processed each day. Today, the company operates two processing locations and markets products worldwide.
In July of 2005, Caviness completed construction on its new Harvest Facility and moved a few miles west from its original location. We are located in the Heart of Cattle Country, just 5 miles southwest of Hereford, TX on the north side of Hwy 60. The new Harvest Facility is the most modern, state of the art, green-field beef project built to date.
Caviness commenced operations of a new beef fabrication addition in November 2008. This 100,000 square foot expansion complements the harvest facility, and allows Caviness to efficiently produce wholesome beef products meeting or exceeding the requirements of our customers.
In 2010, Rendering and Hides operations were added to the complex. This has helped achieve higher quality finished products in this arena as well.
This location is an efficient processing facility that currently produces approximately 900,000 pounds of ground beef chubs and patties weekly. It is located on the northeast side of Amarillo, Texas, just 55 miles away from the Hereford Facility.
